As my term as Commodore comes to a close, I want to thank everyone for their tremendous support over the past year. I know you will show the same enthusiasm for your next Bridge and Board. Anchors away!
Merry Christman and Happy New Year everyone! The treated lumber for the next phase of docks, J, K, L and Transient, will arrive this week. Upon verification and organization, an email will be sent out requesting the volunteers to help install it. Please do not respond to the email as there are too many on the list. All you will need to do is show up and we will find a spot for you. Anyone knowing of others who want to get on the email list, please forward their name and email address to me at jmuroskyeyc@aol.com and I will include them on the list. On behalf of Commodore Dave Arthurs, thank you once again for your continued support! Happy Holidays!
As an Erie native currently living in Fayetteville AR, I grew up in the South Shore neighborhood and spent too many days of my youth whiling away my time “down at the bay” (Strong Estate, Yacht Club, Devils Backbone, Broken Pier, etc.). I really enjoy the web cam and the opportunity to check out the weather and conditions of the Bay. Makes me feel like I am home again. The weather station is also nothing short of outstanding!
I tip my hat to Douglas Boldt, Philip Wolford, and P/C John Murosky who made the web cam happen and to the Erie Yacht club for maintaining the focus and functionality.
Best Regards for a short Winter and a long hot Summer
Howdy Folks!
I recently found some old 8mm film which my grandfather P/C Arthur S. Boldt shot in 1958. It shows the old clubhouse, and lots of people enjoying opening day. I’ve uploaded about 5 mins worth to youtube. If anyone would like a DVD copy, send me an email.
